GP - Wound wash saline

GP - Wound wash saline is a sterile solution designed for general washing, rinsing, cleansing and irrigation of wounds. It may be used to cleanse wounds, scrapes and burns on a day-to-day basis until the wounds are healed. It may also be used for:

• Removal of foreign bodies, dirt and debris

• Removal of blood, clots and dead tissue

• Support of wound healings

Wound Irrigation
In order to minimize trauma and optimize healing of wounds, irrigation is the preferred method of wound cleansing. Irrigation force required for each wound depends on the severity, presence of debris and stage of healing of the wound. Irrigation force/flow of this device can be adjusted according to the pressure applied to actuator. Sterile saline solution (0.9% Sodium Chloride) is the preferred wound cleansing agent because as an isotonic solution, it does not donate or draw fluid from the wound, hence does not interfere with the normal healing process.

Directions

Before use, spray small amount away from the affected area to clear nozzle. To dispense, point and spray solution over wound area. May be applied as often as needed or as directed by a healthcare professional. Replace cap after each use. Avoid direct contact between the nozzle and the surface of the wound

Warnings

For external use only. Avoid spraying in eyes. Keep out of reach of children. Pressurised container, may burst if heated. Do not puncture or burn (even when empty). Keep away from heat / sparks / open flames / hot surfaces. Protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50°C.
